Sculpted Brick Signs & Brick Sculpture

At Earthwork Studios, we create sculpted brick signs, sculpted & glazed tile signs (also made of brick), as well as a variety of related ceramic products, including brick & tile sculptures and custom tile for commercial and residential applications. We can design your sign or work with your graphic designer, architect and landscape architect.

Like the fifty-three entry signs for Pinecreek and Briargate, the majority of our work is site-specific, meaning that each project for each client is a "one-of-a-kind" creation. We take "green" unfired oversized brick, stack them on an easel, carve them, take them down for drying and then fire them. If the design calls for a glazed finish, then the glaze is applied and the units are fired a second time.

The project time frame can be as short as 30 days, but is usually 60 to 90 days. Multiple signs and more complex designs, of course, will take more time, since these are labor-intensive hand-carved creations.

Specially packaged on pallets, they can be shipped anywhere in the world.

Either way...the end product, once installed, is a highly durable, great-looking product. We work with competent masonry contractors to insure that the finished project meets and exceeds the client's expectations.

The brick used in our signs are custom-manufactured for us by Summit Brick & Tile Company of Pueblo, Colorado. They've been making brick since 1906 and ship their brick nationally and internationally.
