After creating over 200 permanent, site-specific sculpted brick projects from the Rocky Mountains to the East Coast,
we're ready to "downsize" both our work and our location. If you are a "clay-person," or a "horse-person," or both, this
may be a great opportunity for you and your family. If a couple, then there is a good "bed & breakfast" possibility,
along with a horse boarding business.
Our home and business are located
in SE Colorado on the historic St. Vrain Land Grant near the Arkansas and Huerfano Rivers, twenty miles east of Pueblo, Colorado,
with easy access via US Hwy 50.
This property has many special
features, including a two story adobe 5,100 s.f. house, a studio/garage of 1,100 s.f., two horse barns with sixteen stalls
(total s.f. over 5,200), all on 10.357 acres. There are corrals, four pastures with one set up as a roping arena.
This unique house features a 20' by 30' "great room" with tile floor, fireplace
with a Lopi insert, and 16' high cathedral ceiling and hand-hewn wood beams. A circular staircase leads to the second floor.
Most of the house has the original hardwood floors. Part of the house is set-up as a separate 1,500 s.f. apartment. There
are a total of five bedrooms, dining room with fireplace (another Lopi insert) and windows on three sides, office w/two walk-in
closets, and three bathrooms. Besides the fireplaces (including one in the master bedroom), the heat is a hot water system.
House water is supplied by the Avondale Water system; a good well supplies stock
water through three different outlets, as well as five yard faucets, and a four-zone yard sprinkler system. Stock water is
also available from a spring-fed ditch that flows year-round through the north pasture. A stone summer house with a unique
river-stone roof is located next to the back yard.
Good weather and
great soil, combine with ample water to create beautiful flowers, and delicous vegatables from spring through fall.

For someone interested in the studio operation, it includes two large Skutt electric
kilns, 36" North Star slab roller, Bailey extruder, plus other equipment and materials. This is a "clay business" familiar
to any potter. Brick sculpture is basically stacking up walls of "green" manufactured brick and carving them, drying and
firing them. A brick plant is nearby that delivers the pallets of brick to the studio. We will be available to "walk" you
through the process.
